Adrien Ramon

Orchestre de Chambre de Paris

Joint director / Ensemble conducting

It is in 2006, in the regional conservatory of Reims, that Adrien started the trumpet, with tuition from Michel Barré. After having obtained his diploma, he continued his education at CNSMD Lyon, where he was also admitted to the zink class of Jean Tubéry. In addition to his studies, he founded the Brass Band de Lyon, an ensemble that reunites 30 brass and percussion players, all present or past students of CNSMD Lyon, that he should conduct for four years. He was member of the French Youth Orchestra in 2007 and 2008, member of the Lucerne Festival Academy under Pierre Boulez in 2009 and 2010, and was chosen in 2010 to be part of a European exchange programme with the Vienna Youth Orchestra. Not only has he gathered a lot of experience playing with major French orchestras (Paris and Lyon opera, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Nation d’Île de France), he also collaborates with the Musiciens du Louvre (dir. Marc Minkowski) and the Chambre Philharmonique (dir. Emmanuel Krivine). Playing instruments of times past, like the zink or 19th century trumpets, has sparked off his reflections upon the interpretation of renaissance, baroque, classic and romantic repertoire. From 2010 to 2016, he was artistic director of the festival for brass and percussion instruments at Larmor-Plage, and in 2019, he co-founded the academy and festival Les Monts en Musique, with Jocelyn Mathevet. He was solo cornet of the Brass Band de la Musique de’Air de Paris from 2011 to 2016 and part of the brass quintet Magnifica from 2013 to 2018. In March 2019, he was appointed principal trumpet of the Orchestre de Chamber de Paris. He is equally member of the ensembles Les Frivolités Parisiennes and Ensemble Rinascere, a baroque ensemble that he co-founded in 2016, together with Cyril Bernhard.
