Trombone

Nicolas started playing the trombone at the regional conservatory in Reims with Olivier Rainouard while also studying for several years in the classes of Marc Lefèvre, Rudy Sauvage and Fabrice Brohet. The diversification of musical training in the conservatory also lead him to studying jazz and joining the class of Manu Pékar. Being principal trombone of the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Saint-Étienne since 2011, he graduated in 2014 with a Master’s degree from CNSMD Lyon with a unanimous mention très bien. He was part of the class of Michel Becquet and his assistant Alain Manfrin. Nicolas is regularly invited by the major French orchestras, like the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre de l’Opera National de Lyon, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Orchestre de Chambre De Paris or the Orchestre National de Lorraine. In order to improve further his artistic expression, he joined Daniel Lassalle’s sackbut class in CNSMD Lyon in 2016 and graduated in 2018 with a complementary Master in Early Music with a unanimous mention très bien. Since then, Nicolas has been playing with renowned ensembles, such as Les Arts Florissants, Jean Tubéry’s La Fenice or La Tempête, founded by Simon-Pierre Bestion. Furthermore, Nicolas is a founding member of the Octotrip ensemble (octet of trombones, euphonium and tuba) with which he performs in festivals of chamber music, jazz and brass, but is also part of project for young audiences and master classes.
