Born in the Picardie region, Matthieu starts playing the saxhorn in music school, later at the rgional conservatory in Reims, before enrolling at the CNSM Lyon. He graduated in saxhorn and bass tuba. He has been member of the Musique des équipages de la flotte de Toulon as saxhorn and euphonium player since 2010 and is regularly called upon as guest musician in orchestras like the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, the Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie, the Opéra de Marseille or the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Lyon. In the field of chamber music, he has been part of various projects, e.g. brass quintets or ensembles with brass and percussion, and is also part of the tango quartet ‘Cuarteto Compadrito’. In the music academy Cuivres en Ardennes he has been teacher since its creation in 2007.
