News 2020 covid

UK UK UK Cher.e.s tou.te.s,

UK The academy in a few words

You haven’t heard of the academy Monts en Musique? We will tell you everything about it!

We are very happy to invite you to join us for our academy of classical music that will take place from 23 to 29 August 2020 in Bourg-Argental (Loire department).

This academy offers participant of all levels (three years experience minimum) to improve with the help of a pedagogic staff which consists of musicians from different French and European orchestras as well as teachers from conservatories of regional and national level in France.

What is special about this event is that there is training proposed for most of the instruments that form a symphonic orchestra:

• violin, viola, cello and double bass
• oboe, flute, clarinet and bassoon
• trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba
• harp

New this year: the academy will open its doors to amateur choral singers who will be working during the whole week with our choral conductors.

The instrument students will individual classes per instrument throughout the week, while the ensemble classes will be dedicated to chamber music, mostly drawing from original repertoire, but also from made-to-measure transcriptions for new combinations of instruments.

We would be happy to welcome musicians of different profiles: students of conservatories, music schools, associations or amateur musicians. The aim is to make progress through demand, but without taking ourselves too serious!

At the same time, teachers and students will be presenting several concerts and musical events to the public which will constitute the second edition of the festivals Monts en Musique.

We hope to meet lots of you in summer!

Cédric started his training at the CNR in Reims where he obtained the first prizes for double bass, chamber music and music education. He then went on to study at the CNSM Lyon in the class of J. P. Céléa where he obtained a DNSPM diploma in double bass with a unanimous mention très bien.

Very early he taught at several conservatories, is professeur référent at Cefedem, and was appointed professor at the CNSM Lyon in 2012. He also teaches students of various nationalities in international academies and regularly gives master classes in several conservatories of France and abroad (Europe and Asia).

With these orchestras he has played under the baton of renowned conductors, including L. Maazel, V. Gergiev, B. Haitink, P. Boulez, W. Christie and K. Petrenko. He is founder and member of the Pelleas chamber orchestra.

UK Change of harp teacher

Dear harp students, find out more about our new harp teacher, Annabelle Jarre!

A native of Annecy, Annabelle pursues a career as both soloist and orchestra musician. She is regularly invited to festivals such as the Chamber Music Fest Rotterdam and is most noticeably soloist with the orchestra of the French Republican Guard. She is member of several orchestras, like   Opéra de Paris, Hamburg Opera, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg

Annabelle is passionate about contemporary music and the opening-up of repertoire, and thus has been part of several creations with the Musicatreize ensemble, with the composer Florent Caron Darras with whom she created a piece for solo harp.

Besides this, she equally develops pedagogical and artistic partnerships, like the ‘Zodiaco’ project in collaboration with the conservatory of Quite (Ecuador).

She obtained her Master’s with the congratulation of the jury in 2016 at the Conservatoire of Paris in the class of Isabelle Moretti and completes her Master’s in pedagogics in June 2020.

Having been awarded a prize in the international competition ‘Félix Godefroid’, she is also laureate of the Foundation Meyer and of the Adami.
